World's Highest Urban Microbrewery, world record in Singapore

Singapore, Singapore--Rising 149 meters above sea level on the 33rd floor of Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, Level33 has brewed since 2010 over a million liters of beer, from fruity blonde lagers and a house porter to banana-scented wheat beer, setting the world record for the World's Highest Urban Microbrewery, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"Rising 149 metres above sea level on the 33rd floor of Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, Level33 is officially in the record books for achieving the feat of brewing beer at the highest altitude within a building," the TimeOut reports.

"Level33 has been a favourite since 2010 for its crisp pints and unbeatable views of the city’s skyline from the 33rd floor. But getting those 12 brewing tanks up there wasn’t easy. According to founder Martin Bem, hauling the heavy equipment all the way up was a huge engineering feat. Since the beer tanks couldn’t fit in the lift, they eventually craned it up, even dismantling part of the building’s facade at one point. Talk about commitment to the…craft.

"Since then, Level33 has brewed over a million litres of beer, from fruity blonde lagers and a house porter to banana-scented wheat beer. The restaurant-bar also boasts a beer-focused food menu which incorporates by-products from the brewery into its dishes."

"The rooftop dining concept, which has long been a favourite spot for locals and tourists alike to enjoy panoramic views of the Singapore skyline, is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2025," The Straits Times reports.

"LeVeL33’s founder Martin Bem, 57, says that while the altitude does not affect the brews, establishing his 7,500 sq ft brewery on the 33rd floor in 2010 came with creative challenges.

"Beers served at LeVeL33 are produced on-site, in a range of traditional old- and new-world styles. A pint starts at $16.90. The micro-brewery’s equipment is part of the bar’s aesthetic, with copper kettles and tanks stretching across the venue space."
