"Ştefan Popescu has been playing the bagpipes (pan flute) for as long as he can remember. He loves the sounds of this instrument without which he believes that music would be poorer, so three years ago he thought of popularizing it all over the world. The pan flute built by him even surpasses that of master Gheorghe Zamfir. It has an instrument made up of only 43 tubes and not the 53 that Stefan Popescu's giant snare has," the Digi24.ro says.

"The pan flute built for the Book of Records is certainly the largest in the country, it remains to be seen if in the world. The artist's colleagues wish him good luck and hope that the record in this field will come from Gorj.

"The giant snare is not the only pride of the artist from Gorj. He boasts that he can also play...vegetables or fruits. Ștefan Popescu is a snare teacher and hundreds of artists have been trained under his guidance."

"A pan flute (also known as panpipes or syrinx) is a musical instrument based on the principle of the closed tube, consisting of multiple pipes of gradually increasing length (and occasionally girth). Multiple varieties of pan flutes have been popular as folk instruments. The pipes are typically made from bamboo, giant cane, or local reeds. Other materials include wood, plastic, metal, and clay."

"The pan flute is named after Pan, the Greek god of nature and shepherds, often depicted with such an instrument. Pan and Daphnis – 1st century BC Roman replica of 2nd century BC Greek original. The pan flute has become widely associated with the character Peter Pan created by Sir James Matthew Barrie, whose name was inspired by the god Pan.

"The pan flute is an end-blown flute. Sound is produced by the vibration of an air-stream blowing across an open hole at the end of a resonating tube. The length of the tube determines the fundamental frequency."  (Wikipedia)

"Master Ştefan Popescu will present the biggest piper in the world to the Gorjes at the show that will be organized on May 22, on the occasion of Târgu Jiu Municipality Days. The artist will perform a doina, on the 2-meter pipe, made of 53 tubes. Ştefan Popescu wants to enter the Book of Records with the giant duck, this after inventing the digiphone and turning objects such as spoons, brandy bottles, salt shakers, walnuts or carrots into musical instruments," the Pandurul.ro says.

"Ştefan Popescu, the deputy director of the Popular Art School in Târgu Jiu, is a doctoral professor in musical instruments. After a few years ago he caused a stir at "Romanians have talent" singing on the digiphone, now Ştefan Popescu wants to enter the Book of Records with his nearly 2-meter long penis. Making this nose took about three years because the tubes were very hard to find.

""The pipe is made of bamboo, has 53 tubes and was made in Romania. I managed to tune it and I will sing it for the first time during the performance organized by Târgu Jiu Municipality Days. I will perform a doina from the instrumental repertoire, after which I will continue with the other instruments and pseudo-instruments, my creations", declared Ştefan Popescu."

"Ştefan Popescu is a teacher at the Popular Art School in Târgu-Jiu. He has dozens of wind instruments and as many dozens of trophies and prizes from all the competitions he participated in. He loves these instruments that he makes with his hands, carefully and in detail. From this passion were born instruments such as the caval, the whistle, the ocarina, the piculina, but he also plays on less common objects in the musical world, such as the snail, the cuckoo, the bell, the brandy bottle, the clapper," the Impact in Gorj says.

"Because he wants everyone to know his instruments and especially the dedication with which he makes them, Ştefan Popescu managed to make a giant 53-tube nai out of bamboo and acacia, brought from France.

""It's made of bamboo, I waited about a year and a half to get the six tubes, the ones on the right, the big ones, to bring them from France, near the Atlantic Ocean, where I toured. Bamboo grows there, even at people's houses", said Ştefan Popescu. The Gorjean hopes to enter the Book of Records with this rhinoceros, which he says is the largest rhinoceros in the world."

"The artist Ştefan Popescu, deputy director of the Popular Art School, declared, on Thursday, during a press conference, that he made a giant, 2-meter-long Pan Flute, with which he wants to enter the Book of Records. The instrument is made of bamboo and acacia wood and has 53 tubes, the materials used to make the giant snare being brought from France," the Romanian News Agency reports," the Romanian News Agency Agerpres says.

""It is made of bamboo and acacia, I waited a year and a half for six tubes that came to me from abroad because we can only find bamboo in Romania at Deva, but it is not of very good quality. The instrument I made is more bigger than that of maestro Gheorghe Zamfir, who has 53 tubes, and I've been working on it for three years.

"At the moment, it's only tuned to four tubes, because it takes me about two months to tune it. The bass which we hope will be in the Book of Records is almost two meters and is made in six octaves. I worked on it with a good friend because it is extremely difficult to work in wood, it is a meticulous job stated Vasile Popescu."
