Avrig, Sibiu County, Romania-- Inside the
Brambura Park, the newest attraction in Sibiu County, Romania, in addition to the
Upside Down House, the main attraction, visitors will find playgrounds, a restaurant with a terrace, a small zoo with Alpacas, dwarf deer and bunnies in an enchanted forest and an area with inflatable slides and huge trampolines; the park, which covers an area of 6 hectares, sets the world record for being the
World's First Upside Down House Theme Park, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"An amusement park is a park that features various attractions, such as rides and games, as well as other events for entertainment purposes.
"A theme park is a type of amusement park that bases its structures and attractions around a central theme, often featuring multiple areas with different themes. Unlike temporary and mobile funfairs and carnivals, amusement parks are stationary and built for long-lasting operation.
"They are more elaborate than city parks and playgrounds, usually providing attractions that cater to a variety of age groups. While amusement parks often contain themed areas, theme parks place a heavier focus with more intricately-designed themes that revolve around a particular subject or group of subjects." (Wikipedia)
"The most bewildering house in central Sibiu County, built with the roof down, represents a magnet for tourists from everywhere, becoming the "star" of the last months in the well-known tourist area called Valea Avrigului / Avrigului Valley, which is full of numerous cabins and guesthouses," the Romanian News Agency Agerpres reports.
"Once in the area, tourists get to know Brambura (puzzled) Park, the place where this unique house in Sibiu county is located. When they enter the gate of the park, where the letters are placed in all positions, the visitors realize that they have arrived at the most "crazy" place in Sibiu County. The entrance gate, provided with two towers, resembles that of the old medieval fortresses.
"On guard are several British toy soldiers, one of them the height of an adult, dressed like the ones in the animated films, with a red coat and a big hat under which two inquisitive eyes are staring. After the gate detached as if from fairy tales, the tourist enters the alleys that lead to the house with the roof down. To the right of it is a generous playground, and in front of it, a modern restaurant. To the left are other playgrounds and a small private zoo."
"Less than a year after its inauguration, the Upside down House from Valea Avrigului counts many visitors, including in the mini-vacation occasioned by the Little Union (24 January, ed. n.), almost a thousand people chose to come here every day.
"I'm glad that, fortunately, people came for this mini-vacation as well, in quite large numbers. And that makes us happy. They also came (...) in the rain and when it's sunny. Most of the people who come are from all over the country, from almost all counties, we learn from their registration plates," Leo Klingeis, the owner of the amusement park where Upside down House is located, told
AGERPRES.
"Initially, Leo wanted a park of photovoltaic panels, but a few years ago he gave up on this idea and started obtaining permits for the only upside down house in Sibiu County," the
Romanian News Agency Agerpres reports.
"With an over 300k euros investment, only in the realization of the Overturned House, and over a million euros, for everything that this Brambura park currently means, Leo Klingeis hopes to strike a blow in tourism intended for all age groups, after how many years he was involved, together with his brother, in the construction of the first ice hotel in Romania, the one located at Balea Lake, in the Fagaras Mountains."
"Leo admits that a flipped house costs twice as much as a normal house and everything is much more complicated to achieve. He adds that it started its construction in October 2019 and opened it in June 2021," the
Romanian News Agency Agerpres reports.
"Almost everything gets complicated, from design, to installation, to assembly, to construction. It's a bit different, but it can be done and it costs more. Honestly, I think the costs are almost double compared to a normal house," Leo Klingeis says.

"The upside down house has windows with upside down planters. Basically, the curtains and the flowers on the window are upside down.
"Instead of the ground floor, you will see the roof, with the chimney fixed in the ground. Instead of the roof, the threshold of the house can be seen at the top of the building, with the terrace and the lighting fixtures fixed in reverse."
"Perhaps the most impressive is the kitchen. Here are the most overturned objects. The table is full of food, and the refrigerator and kitchen furniture reveal a "brambura/puzzling" world, after the tourists open their doors.
"Eggs placed in an upside down refrigerator that don't break, a bottle of milk that doesn't leak, also sitting upside down, forks, knives that don't fall out of gravity-defying drawers, spices that stay in envelopes on the contrary, this kitchen is by far the room where you can see the most overturned objects," the Romanian News Agency Agerpres reports.
"Because everything is thought of as an amusement park, the children's room is the biggest attraction for the little ones. Here they will find a bed on the ceiling and toys next to it. Even a ball sits well next to the bed and does not fall from there.
"Interesting idea. It is extraordinarily well done. I have seen a similar house in Spain, but there is something else. There was no house to live in. Here is something else, here the house is also inverted and tilted," a tourist says.
To make it even more attractive, the Upturned House is also slightly inclined, but without any risk of tipping over, assures its owner, Leo Klingeis," the
Romanian News Agency Agerpres reports.
"A route with everything for everyone awaits you. Both for grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren. After you get lost in the Overturned House, a lavish meal awaits you," the official website says.
"Then, so that you feel good and get rid of your fear, we invite you to play, with cool things that lift you up. If you get to go to the Zoo and see the alpaca, you can say with your hand on your heart: That's it, I'm a taca-paca too!
"In BRAMBURA PARK, we want you to have fun, young and old, take your family for a walk. Eat, escape, laugh out loud, be naughty and make noise."
"Brambura Park is the newest attraction in Valea Avrigului. A house... fell as if from the sky. It has the roof embedded in the ground, the floor up, and the furniture sits... on the ceiling," the
Wel.ro says.
"In addition to the Upside Down House, which is the main attraction, visitors find at Brambura Park playgrounds, a restaurant with a terrace and a small zoo."
"In Brambura Park, next to the food section and Casa Intoarsa, there is also a MiniZoo with Alpacas, dwarf deer and bunnies in an enchanted forest and for children there are the following playgrounds: classic trampolines, swings, zip line, climbing frames spider web type," the Romanian Touristic Guide says.
"There is also an area with inflatable slides and huge trampolines at the price of 10 lei/30 minutes, and for groups of children they can be included for 5 lei.
"Brambura Park covers an area of 6 hectares and parking is free. No reservation required unless you wish to dine in to have everything professionally prepared, fresh and table arrangements."
"I have never seen anything like this before. It's the first time I see, at first I was a little confused, because I have to look up. But I would also stay in a house like this, but not to sleep hanging from the ceiling and not to watch the TV, which also has the screen turned upside down", declared a visitor," the
B1TV reports.
"With an investment of over 300,000 euros, only in the construction of the Overturned House, and over a million euros, for everything that this park currently means, Leo Klingeis hopes to give a kick to tourism for all age groups, after years of zile was involved in the construction of the first ice hotel in Romania, the one located at Bâlea Lac."
