Otopeni, Romania--Located in Otopeni, Romania, just across Henri Coanda Airport, the Țiriac Collection gallery covers approximately 4,300 sqm and displays models of the most important car manufacturers; the gallery is the only current collection in the world that features all the seven Rolls-Royce Phantom models of the I-VII series, setting the world record for being the World's Largest private collection of Rolls Royce Phantom, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"Țiriac Collection is the first collection car gallery in Romania open to the public, owned by businessman Ion Țiriac. Its collection includes about 250 cars and motorcycles, produced since 1899, 150 of which are exhibited in the gallery.
"The Țiriac Collection gallery was located in Otopeni, near the Henri Coandă International Airport, and was inaugurated on November 28, 2013. At the time of the inauguration, the exhibition space presented 70 units to the public. Following expansion works that took place in the spring of 2015, the gallery has increased its display space, currently including 170 collectible cars and motorcycles. In August 2024, within the collection, every athlete who won a medal at the Paris Olympics received a Hyundai car.
"Țiriac Collection includes models from over 30 renowned car brands such as: Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, Cadillac, Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Maserati, Ford, Chevrolet, Harley Davidson and others. The car collection includes units that have had famous owners, such as the Countess de la Nove of Switzerland, who owned the Daimler Conquest Century Drophead Coupe, or Elton John who owned a Rolls Royce Phantom V Park Ward, both of which are included in the exhibition. The car gallery of businessman Ion Țiriac is the only private collection in the world that owns the six models of the Rolls-Royce Phantom series, produced until 1972." (Wikipedia)
"Located in Otopeni, just across Henri Coanda Airport, the gallery was launched in November 2013 and covers now approximately 4,300 sqm. Visitors will discover models of the most important car manufacturers including Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, Cadillac, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Maserati, Ford, Chevrolet, Harley Davidson and Indian Scout," the
Țiriac Collection gallery says.
The gallery is the only current collection in the world that features all the seven Rolls-Royce Phantom models of the I-VII series, including 2 units from the IV series, the most exclusive Rolls Royce generation ever built. Only 18 cars were manufactured between 1950 and 1956, originally designed for Royals and heads of state.
"The oldest model of the collection is a Hurtu 3 1/2 Quadricycle, manufactured in 1899, one of the seven units still existing. All models displayed at the Țiriac Collection gallery are fully functional, being serviced by a dedicated team of professionals. Some of the units exhibited were completely restored by Tiriac Collection’s engineers."
"Ion Țiriac is the only man on the world map who owns the complete collection of Rolls Royce Phantom luxury models. There are eight series produced from 1925 to the present: seven can be admired at the "Țiriac Collection" in Otopeni, the eighth, released in 2017, is soon to be bought by the former tennis player," the
gsp.ro says.
"In Otopeni, the name of the richest Romanian sits on the frontispiece of a huge hall: "Țiriac Collection". It is the place where hundreds of vintage car models are collected, in which the former tennis player invested tens of millions of euros for purchase, restoration or maintenance. Above all, however, a spectacular series reigns supreme."
"Tiriac explains: “I am the only person in the world who owns the complete collection of Rolls Royce Phantoms, series one to seven. I don't have number eight yet. I didn't buy it, because I'm an ass. The most famous is the one that won Peeble Beach, a kind of Wimbledon of cars. It's a Rolls Royce Phantom IV that belonged to Sultan Aga Kahn.
"It took two years and many hundreds of thousands of dollars to restore it. How much would it be worth now? How much would someone announce at an auction that they want to give. But they are no longer mine, I gave them all to the Foundation. Absolutely everything. If someone were to sell them, I wouldn't advise them. If someone gives them 5 million, 7 million, I wouldn't give it," the
gsp.ro says.
"Rolls-Royce has used the Phantom name on full-sized luxury cars over the past century, and is the second, longest-used automobile nameplate in the world after the Chevrolet Suburban. The Phantom is a low volume, hand-built limousine, which in earlier generations was custom built to the customers desires, and sometimes extravagant whims.
"As automobile manufacturing became more prolific, and vehicles from other manufacturers could be built in greater numbers and at reduced prices, the Phantom remained hand-built and production of individual models only began once the order was placed. The use of the name "phantom" is a long tradition of naming models after "ghosts".
"Earlier versions from Rolls-Royce consisted of the chassis and engine, then arrangements were made to customize the body and interior to whatever the buyer requested. The Phantom is popular with wealthy business people, royalty and celebrities who desire the best of everything, and want a car with exclusivity and elegance." (Wikipedia)

"In 2013, the private car collection of Ion Țiriac became open to the public as a museum. With 400 distinct models, the Țiriac Collection is one of the most remarkable car collections in the world. "Ion Țiriac, born 9 May 1939, also known as the "Brașov Bulldozer", is a Romanian businessman and former professional tennis and ice hockey player. He has been president of the Romanian Tennis Federation.
"A former singles top 10 player on the ATP Tour, he was active from 1958 to 1979 and won 34 career singles titles. Tiriac was the winner of one grand slam title, the 1970 French Open in men's doubles. Țiriac was the first man to play against a woman and defeat her, in a sanctioned tennis tournament (against Abigail Maynard, in 1975). The highlight of his ice hockey career was participating as a defense man in the Romanian national team at the 1964 Winter Olympics.
"After retirement, Tiriac became active as a tennis coach, advisor and player agent in the 1980s, taking under his wing Ilie Năstase, Manuel Orantes, Adriano Panatta, Guillermo Vilas, Henri Leconte and the young Boris Becker. Later, Țiriac developed the Mutua Madrid Open ATP masters tennis tournament, which he has owned from 2009 to 2021. In 2013, he was elected as contributor into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. He has been managing French tennis player Lucas Pouille since December 2016." (Wikipedia)
"In 1998, at the initiative of Mr. Ion Tiriac and with the support of the Romanian Olympic Sports Committee, but also of some personalities from the field of Olympic and performance sports, the Romanian Olympic Foundation began its story," the
The Sports Excellence Foundation says.
"The Romanian Olympic Wave is a non-profit, apolitical and non-governmental organization that supports the development of young athletes, promotes sport and the principles of a healthy life and offers support to Romanian athletes in special life situations."
"Andreea Chelaru is now 29 years old and lives in Zarnesti with her parents. Former gymnast in the junior team from Onesti, Andreea's career was suddenly interrupted at only 14 years old, after a missed landing on the jumps, in December 1999. The diagnosis was spinal cord trauma to Andreea Chelaru's 2C5-C6 vertebrae, which means she was paralyzed almost from the neck down and is in a wheelchair," the
The Sports Excellence Foundation says.
"Bogdan Cretu, 31 years old, started gymnastics at CSS Brasovia when he was 8 years old. At the age of 10, he participated in the first competition, at Sfantul Gheorghe. He liked working on rings the most. A period of preparation and competitions followed. The training had become more and more serious, as well as the training session on March 7, 2000, the last one for Bogdan. He was preparing with the team for another competition.
The desire to do better, stress and maybe carelessness made Bogdan perform the element with a technical mistake, at which point the landing was no longer standing, but directly on the back of the head. After a few seconds, the only pain he felt was the one in the nape of the neck (neck), nothing else! After investigations, the diagnosis was: cervical vertebro-medullary trauma, in which he was paralyzed from the chest down, being diagnosed with Quadriplegia.
"George was born on March 6, 1986. He played for 8 years for the "RC Magic" club, then followed an important step for the young sportsman's career. From the age of 18, he was registered with the CS "Olimpia" Bucharest team, with which he was runner-up, Junior 1, and with whom he was promoted to the National Division, where, unfortunately, he did not get to play again, because in a match of preparation, in a pile, George Baltaului fractured his spine in the neck. Because of this accident, the young man was paralyzed."

(13) With its athletic exterior lines and a refined interior finish, you’ve never seen an accessible vehicle like the 2014 Honda Power. The engineers behind BraunAbility’s newest conversion call this a “lightning bolt” design, and it’s easy to see why. The lines of our stylish ground effects blend seamlessly with our new step flare design, cutting a sleek and modern contour. With a body structure made of 35% stronger steel and a rear frame reinforced by nearly 60%, this is the safest Honda side-entry ever made. One more standout trait: the 50/50 ramp design, which creates a low profile interior look and makes the side door easier to access. Photo: Drive Master
