"A small town with a population of less than 2,000 residents, Hamilton has earned a reputation for its love of and dedication to all things quilting. It is, in fact, known as the Quilting Capital of the World, home to more than a dozen quilting companies and the Missouri Quilt Museum. On the front lawn of the museum, you’ll find…" the Only In Your State says.

"Hamilton is a city in northern Caldwell County, Missouri, and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area within the United States. The population was 1,690 at the 2020 census.[4] It is known as the hometown of James Cash Penney, who built a large apparel-related business, J. C. Penney, and the hometown of Jenny Doan, who has built a large quilting-related business, Missouri Star Quilt Co.
"Missouri Star Quilt Company was founded by the Doan siblings in support of their mother Jenny Doan's dream, and in tribute to her talent as a quilter on YouTube. It has grown into a $20,000,000 per year business that owns 26 buildings in Hamilton and is part owner of three restaurants. The business brings as many as 8,000 quilters to Hamilton in a month. Missouri Star has become the largest employer in Caldwell County, with 450 employees.[20] The Doan siblings were named the Missouri Small Business Persons of the Year in 2015, and were named by the federal government's Small Business Administration as the national Small Business Persons of the Year.
"The active quilt business has inspired the construction of The World's Largest Spool of Thread. At 22 feet tall and 8 feet wide, the spool was unveiled in September 2019, containing 1 million yards of Aurifil thread. Located at 300 East Bird in Hamilton the spool rests on the corner of the Missouri Quilt Museum." (Wikipedia)
"A wonderful collection of quilts and old sewing machines. Children’s sewing machines. Toy sewing machines."
"One of my best lifetime experiences! The Doan's girls and their family make everyone feel welcome. The food is delicious!"
"Three floors in a converted school building filled with different themed rooms and corridors. Lots of beautiful quilts and a cool thimble collection, too."
"The Museum was so interesting with a wide variety of exhibits. The cost is $12 but the Missouri Star Quilting Co has $2 off coupons that you can pick up. Th museum volunteers shared interesting factors about the museum as well. I am not quilter but I love history. I would recommend adding this to your visit to Hamilton."
"There are a lot of beautiful quilts on display. Also a collection of toy sewing machines. I didn't realize there were so many (100's) different kinds. Was a great experience if you are a quilter."
