Phillipsburg, Missouri, United States--Located in Phillipsburg, Missouri, United States, the (self-proclaimed) World's Largest Gift Store will definitely catch your eye while driving down Route 66; the store seems to have everything socks, toys, vintage Coca-Cola signs/collectibles, clothes, and even Lucille Ball's 1940 Cadillac; the Redmon's Candy Shop has over 70 different flavors of salt laffy taffy, over 20 flavors of homemade fudge, 70 flavors of bulk candy, and more, the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY says.
"Keep an eye out for the road signs, along Interstate 44/Route 66, announcing that you're getting close to The World's Largest Gift Store as you approach the Phillipsburg exit. Once you get off of the exit, you'll easily spot the massive gift shop that's right next door to Redmon's Candy Factory, a huge candy store that's also worth a visit," the Only In Your State says.
"Meander down the aisles of the bright gift shop that's generally stocked with plenty of Route 66 memorabilia and colorful collectibles.
"But, be forewarned, The World's Largest Gift Store really is huge, so you'll need to allot plenty of time if you want to see the whole shop. Discover a wide variety of gifts - from Elvis memorabilia and eye-catching T-shirts to dream catchers, snacks, home décor, and toys."
"Redmon's World's Largest Gift Shop is part of the Redmon's complex, which includes a gas station, candy shop and gift shop," the Route 66 Times says.
"The gift shop features a huge array of goodies, which is fitting because it's a huge building.
"You can probably get an idea of how big by looking at the tiny little cars out front, yes, those are real cars, not toy Hot Wheels!"
"Redmon’s was established in 1995 by John and Sharon Redmon. Our mission was to create a fun, clean, and comfortable stop for everyone," the official website says.
"We have an onsite candy kitchen where we produce gourmet chocolates and homemade fudge. We have become famous for our wide variety of all types of candies. We have over 70 flavors of mouthwatering salt water taffy, over 20 flavors of delicious homemade fudge, over 70 flavors of bulk candy, and much more.
"There is something for everyone. Redmon’s has become a landmark stop in southwest Missouri and has been visited by over 2 million travelers. Just follow the billboards, and we hope to see you soon!"

"I checked the Guinness Book of World Records and there is no such title as "World's Largest Gift Shop," but from what I am seeing they deserve the title. The best part is after you have walked for hours up and down the isles, right next door is the biggest candy store. Redmon's Candy Shop has over 70 different flavors of salt laffy taffy, over 20 flavors of homemade fudge, 70 flavors of bulk candy, and more," the 979kickfm.com says.
"You could almost make a full day of shopping and eating and trying out as much candy and chocolate as you can handle. When we took a trip down to Branson we stopped at the candy store at first you want to eat everything because the smells are to die for, but they you receive you can so you try your best to find the most delicious candy in the store. No matter what you get it's all good, of course, I got my favorite nonpareils candy."
"The self-proclaimed "World's Largest Gift Store" exhibits a 1940 Cadillac used in the I Love Lucy show," the Roadside America says.
"First we visited the candy shop. Much too crowded for us, but lots of candy! Next was the World's Largest Gift Shop. We were very impressed with how nice it was. Fun to walk through. Would be nice to go Christmas shopping there! Fun stop!
"talk about a lot of items to buy. there is a lot to see. they also have an old car in the back that was on the "I love Lucy."
"Just a very large gift shop. Kind of like a tourist trap. A lot of small booths. T-shirts, wind chimes. If you didn't get your t-shirt at Branson you can get one here."
"Enjoyed an afternoon of shopping. It was clean, well lit and affordable prices. Goodies ranged from babies to adults, from clothes and books to wind chimes. Wandered over the store twice to be sure I saw everything!"
"I was looking for a way to stretch my legs and see what the "World's Largest Gift Store" was really all about. Maybe because I had seen no fewer than 25 billboards telling me to go there (not an exaggeration), I kind of couldn't resist and I did need to stretch my legs. I ended up leaving having spent about $50 on some things I didn't need, but things I hadn't seen elsewhere and was happy to now have. I'd recommend going. Both the store and the candy factory were both well-staffed with very friendly people!"
"So many things to look at - we started Christmas shopping because of everything they had - and we might make a trip back just for this again!"
