Audubon, Iowa, United States--Albert the Bull, the giant Bull sculpture in Audubon, Iowa, is a replica of a Hereford bull; made of a steel work frame (salvaged from abandoned Iowa windmills) covered in solid concrete and painted to resemble the animal; at 45 tons and 30 feet tall and 33 feet long with a 15-foot span, he’s nine times larger the his real-life doppelgänger and sets the world record for the World’s Largest Bull Sculpture, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"There’s no bull about it: Albert the Bull, the World’s Largest Bull in Audubon, Iowa, is one fine roadside attraction. You might even say he’s adora-bull!" the Silly America says.
"This giant bull is a replica of a Hereford bull. But, at 45 tons and 30 feet tall and 33 feet long with a 15-foot span, he’s nine times larger the his real-life doppelgänger. He is made of a steelwork frame (salvaged from abandoned Iowa windmills) covered in solid concrete and painted to resemble the animal.
"Albert’s status as an American icon transcends the small town and onto the big screen. Albert the Bull has had a cameo in the movie Beethoven’s 3rd, was featured in a question on Jeopardy, and starred in a 2018 Cenex Super Bowl commercial that proclaimed that the small town was home to a Super Bull of their own."
"Albert, the World's Largest Bull, has been guarding the peaceful streets of Audubon since he was built in the summer of 1964. He is 28 feet tall and has a 15-foot span between horns. He also has giant concrete gonads.
"Push a button in the information kiosk next to Albert's parking lot and gaze at him through scratched plexiglass as he tells you that he was built as a replica of the perfect Hereford bull, nine times larger than life-size and "authentic right down to my toenails." According to the voice of Albert, 20,000 people visit him every year, and his media resume includes a cameo in Beethoven's 3rd, "and I was even a question on Jeopardy," the Roadside America says.
"Albert and his park are kept pristine, although we've received reports that Albert's ample 'nads are sometimes painted in the colors of rival football teams or in a patriotic fervor. An autumn visitor might discover Albert with literally blue balls, rivaling those sported by a certain other oversized animal."
"As you drive north on U.S. Highway 71, the expanses of rolling farmland quickly flash into view. In the blink of an eye, you are nose to nose with Albert the Bull. Towering 30 feet over the sprawling Iowa countryside, the concrete bull is a symbol not only of the area’s cattle raising past but also of its hopes for future generations," the Olio In Iowa says..
"The Audubon County Tourism Office doesn’t keep exact visitor numbers. But it’s estimated that more than 20,000 people stop in the sleepy town each year to visit Albert the Bull. With a population of just over 2,000, Audubon seems the perfect place for a 45 ton, blue-eyed beauty like Albert to call home. The first time I visited him, it’s safe to say that I acted like a giddy small child. When it comes to roadside attractions, I’m a pretty big dork.
"Constructed around a steel frame and Albert was made from dismantled Iowa windmills, according to Eric Peterson’s The Great American Roadtrip. Albert the Bull was then covered in wire mesh then topped with three coats of concrete and an additional layer of cement to add texture."
"Albert, the World’s Largest Bull, has stood in Audubon, Iowa since 1964. At 30 feet tall and 33 feet long, he has a 15-foot span between his horns," the Atlas Obscura says..
"He also has baby blue eyes and giant concrete gonads, often whimsically repainted by folks celebrating various events. The audio in the kiosk is informative.
"Exit I-80 at exit 60, then go north on US Hwy 71 for approx. 16 miles. Albert will on the right side in Albert The Bull Park."
"Albert, the "World's Largest Bull," is over 50 years old," the Travel Iowa says.

"Albert, the World's Largest Bull at 45 tons was built in 1964. He also has baby blue eyes and giant concrete gonads!
"Audubon is home to a gigantic bull statue, Albert the Bull. The statue is 30 feet tall, weighs 45 tons, and can be seen from US highway 71 even at night (lighted)," the Road Trippers says.
"This guy's name is Albert, and he turned 50 in 2014. He stands 30 feet tall, is 33 feet long, and boasts a 15-foot span between his horns," Les Enterprises says.
"If you visit Audubon, you can learn about Albert's history directly from the bull himself. According to Roadside America, you can push a button at a kiosk and Albert will tell you about how he's a replica of the perfect Hereford bull."
"Albert, the World’s Largest Bull, can be found guarding the streets of Audubon," the Iowa PBS says.
"Built in 1964, this giant hereford bull is 28 feet tall and weighs 40 tons. If you press a button in a kiosk nearby, Albert will tell you all about his 20,000 visitors a year, and the times he was featured in the movie Beethoven's 3rd and in Jeopardy.
"For about 50 years, Albert sported bright blue eyes. However, herefords don’t have blue eyes naturally, and enough farmers complained that his eyes were repainted brown in 2017."
"Anyone who has spent time in Audubon, Iowa has spent some time with Albert the Bull! The world's largest bull was built to represent the town and has become a huge part of the community," the Only In Your State says.

"What a fun stop. 4 kids loved it and the play ground right there was a plus. it is well maintained - very clean and free! it's worth a trip! We found audubon to be a great little town - very friendly and several small sites to see!"
"Okay, I admit it, I drove 20 minutes each direction out of my way to see a concrete bull. Not any concrete bull, though; the world’s largest bull. Was it worth it? Absolutely! I was expecting big but Albert is massive! He’s adorable, as well. Visiting him was a perfect way to end my day."
"We love stopping at quirky roadside attractions. This one certainly did not disappoint. If you enjoy tourist attractions that require you to rub something for good luck, again, you will not be disappointed. Long live Albert!"
"Albert the Bull is impressive, and so is the retro playground equipment in the Audubon parks. Well worth a stop if in the area."
"Make a stop at Albert the Bull when you are travelling through town. He was featured in the movie, "Beethoven's 3rd" and mentioned on Jeopardy and West Wing. It took 65 coats of paint to cover alert. The 45ton statue is authentic right down to his toenails. He has a horn span of 15 feet and towers 30 feet. You cant climb on him, but you can take pictures."
"Albert the Bull is huge!! It is right beside a park and the parking area is small, but it is not like there will be crowds all the time to see the bull. It is a fun stop and it is about 16 miles north of I-80 in Audubon, Iowa. Great photo opp for sure!"
