Napoleon, Ohio, United States--On the outskirts of town at the the side of the Campell's Soup plant Napoleon, Ohio, stands a gigantic Tomato soup can painted with a traditional Campbell's label; at 33 feet wide and 33 feet tall, the giant can has the capacity to hold 200,000 gallons and it would take 2,178,645 cans of tomato soup to fill the tank, thus setting the world record for being the World's Largest Tomato Soup Can Sculpture, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"At the Cambell's Soup plant, a large cylinder with a familiar label," the Roadside America reports.
"The giant Campbell's tomato soup "can" has a gravel spot where you can stop and take a pic.
"On the outskirts of town at the the side of the Campell's Soup plant stands this gigantic Tomato soup can painted with a traditional Campbell's label. A water tower at the site is also painted with the Campbell's script. As a bonus, when you get out to photograph the thing, the entire area smells just like your kitchen after warming up a can of soup!"
"The instantly recognizable red-and-white label beckons hungry passersby as they travel state Route 110. But at 33 feet wide and 33 feet tall, it would take a tractor-sized opener to flip the lid on the giant tomato soup can outside the Campbell Soup Co.’s Napoleon production facility," the Ohio Magazine reports.
"Jamison Smith, director of human resources for Campbell Soup Co., says the Napoleon location has grown over the years because of its strategic Midwest location and a dedicated workforce. He explains that the giant can outside the factory was labeled tomato soup as a nod to Campbell’s roots in Camden, New Jersey. “Tomato soup was the anchor,” says Smith. “New Jersey was a bountiful harvest location. ... That was the first plant.”
"The can serves a functional purpose, too: It holds water for the warehouse’s sprinkler system. Installed in 1989 during one of three additions to the facility, the giant can has the capacity to hold 200,000 gallons. “It would take 2,178,645 cans of tomato soup to fill the tank,” says Smith. “That’d be a feast for all.”
"Located in Napoleon Ohio on the outside part of town lays the Giant Campbell's Tomato Soup Can located the Campbell's Plant.
"Stop for a picture or just drive by in amazement! Make sure to keep your windows down for you can smell the delicious Campbell's plant!" the Road Trippers says.
"Campbell Soup Company, doing business as Campbell's, is an American company, most closely associated with its flagship canned soup products; however, through mergers and acquisitions, it has grown to become one of the largest processed food companies in the U.S. with a wide variety of products under its flagship Campbell's brand as well as other brands including Pepperidge Farm, Snyder's of Hanover, V8, and Swanson.
"Under its brands, Campbell's produces soups and other canned foods, baked goods, beverages, and snacks. It is headquartered in Camden, New Jersey.
"The classic red-and-white can design used by many Campbell's branded products has become an American icon, and its use in pop art was typified by Andy Warhol's series of Campbell's Soup Cans prints." (Wikipedia)
"Campbell's Soup Cans (sometimes referred to as 32 Campbell's Soup Cans) is a work of art produced between November 1961 and March or April 1962 by American artist Andy Warhol.
"It consists of thirty-two canvases, each measuring 20 inches (51 cm) in height × 16 inches (41 cm) in width and each consisting of a painting of a Campbell's Soup can—one of each of the canned soup varieties the company offered at the time.
"The non-painterly works were Warhol's hand-painted depictions of printed imagery deriving from commercial products and popular culture and belong to the pop art movement." (Wikipedia)

"The best location to view it from is the roundabout, although there is not anywhere to pull over and get a proper look. Overall it was a fairly underwhelming sight, and so if you are passing through Napoleon it might be worth a drive by, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the Giant Can."
"Unique eye catcher. Not worth than a 5 minute drive out of your way. Fun Sunday afternoon drive."
"I drive by this at least once a week and it still makes me smile!"
"We thought this was a cute thing to go visit. Its the largest soup can.. What more can I say? Deff a once visit if in the area."
"If you are into Roadside America attractions, be sure to put this on your list. There is not a real pull-off area, since it wasn't created for tourism, but still neat to see."
"If you are within 30 minutes of the place, it is worth the trip or you know you will be passing by then go for it."
"I enjoyed my visit to check out the largest Campbell's soup plant it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be.The giant can of tomato soup and the water tower were great."
