World's Largest Permanent Ice Bar: world record in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada, United States--The minus5 ICEBAR Las Vegas features an indoor bar that’s made entirely of ice; the 1,800-square-foot experience that draws people into frigid drinking quarters for a one-of-a-kind selfie sets the world record for being the World's Largest Permanent Ice Bar, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"The Ice Bar Las Vegas offers several attractions, making it a unique experience for guests. One of these attractions is the ice sculptures inside the bar itself. There are several sculptures throughout the bar that were hand-carved out of blocks of ice. These include polar bears, penguins, icebergs, and more. There are also many glass sculptures and paintings, all of which were created by local artists and pure Las Vegas talent," the Vegas Food And Fun reports.

"What started 11 years ago as an 800-square-foot concept at the Mandalay Bay has evolved into an 1,800-square-foot experience that draws people into frigid drinking quarters for a one-of-a-kind selfie.

"At night, the Ice Bar transforms into an even cooler place to be because it has a special lighting display that makes it look even more beautiful than during the day. You can also hear music playing throughout the entire bar area at night, which adds to the overall experience of being there."

"Everything is made of ice, and it is well decorated - it's fun themed and worth doing at least once. Even the cups are made of ice. The drinks were tasty and there were many options to try. The bartender was fun!
The bar itself isn't huge - when we went the bar was quite empty which made it easier to enjoy/take photos ect. The staff also took a few photos of us. Wear warm shoes is my advice!"

"ICEBAR at The LINQ Promenade is 1,200 square feet, kept at 23-degrees Fahrenheit and made from nearly 100 tons of ice shipped to Las Vegas from Canada and Minnesota," an official press release says.

"Highlights include:

As a nod to Caesars Palace’s rich history – a true-to-life statue of Evel Knievel and a television running a loop of his historic ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jump over the fountains in 1967. Additional Roman elements to include columns, Roman soldiers’ heads and shields.

Twelve ice carvers constructed the bar, each with an average of 25 years of experience.
Each block weighed 250 pounds, requiring four men to lift and hoist into place.
The ice was created by utilizing a special process that removes all air bubbles, resulting in the clearest ice possible.
ICEBAR will consistently be kept at 23-degrees Fahrenheit with a technologically advanced climate-control system that can make continuous adjustments to account for body heat or changes in humidity.
