Cottonwood, Idaho, United States--Inside of Sweet Willy, a 30 feet tall beagle-shaped building in Cottonwood, Idaho, United States, chainsaw artists Dennis J. Sullivan and his wife, Frances Conklin, have built a single room, complete with bathroom and loft, for visitors passing through the area; called the Dog Bark Park Inn, it sets the world record for being the World's First Beagle-shaped Bed and breakfast, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"Sweet Willy, at 30 feet tall, is not just the biggest beagle in the world - he’s also a bed and breakfast. Inside of Sweet Willy, chainsaw artists Dennis J. Sullivan and his wife, Frances Conklin, have built a single room, complete with bathroom and loft, for visitors passing through the area, " the
Atlas Obscura says.
"Surrounded by other sculptures of animals such as bears, fish, and moose crafted by Sullivan and Conklin, Dog Bark Park is also a roadside attraction for those not looking to spend the night. Visitors can arrange group tours or visit the dog-inspired gift shop and artists’ studio.
"Sullivan and Conklin have been carving for decades, after getting their big break on QVC television. After appearing on the program in 1995, they did nothing but carve wooden dogs for 18 months and invested all of their profits in building Dog Bark Park, where they specialize in folk-art style wooden canine carvings. Over the years, they’ve created more than 60 different breeds and poses of dogs, working most often from photos supplied by customers."
"Dog Bark Park Inn is also a guesthouse inside the World’s Largest Beagle. Some of the dog’s decorative furnishings are carvings by Dog Bark Park chainsaw artists Dennis and Frances. An adjacent gift shop offers an assortment of dog carvings. Visitors can also see how the carvings are made," the
official website says.
"Guests enter the beagle from a private 2nd story deck. Up another level inside leads to the head of the dog with additional sleeping space and a cozy raised alcove in the dog’s muzzle. This is a space much enjoyed by the young and young-at-heart. Dog Bark Park Inn offers an expansive continental self-serve breakfast featuring our family’s Prairie’s Best Fruited Granola. Breakfast also includes a variety of teas, coffees, juices, fresh fruits, boxed cereals, milk, yogurts, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, and home-baked pastries. We strive to offer fresh local foods & ingredients as much as possible.

"The inn is no longer available in 2024 and beyond. After twenty-one years, Sweet Willy needs a rest, and so do we," the official website says.
"Bed and breakfast (typically shortened to B&B or BnB) is a small lodging establishment that offers overnight accommodation and breakfast.
"Bed and breakfasts are often private family homes and typically have between four and eleven rooms, with six being the average.[1] In addition, a B&B usually has the hosts living in the house.
"Bed and breakfast is also used to describe the level of catering included in a hotel's room prices, as opposed to room-only, half-board or full-board. There are approximately 17,000 B&Bs in the United States." (Wikipedia)

It is colloquially known as "Sweet Willy" by local residents. The hotel, which is located in north central Idaho, is a two-bedroom bed and breakfast which also features dog-themed contents.
"Designed and building by Dennis Sullivan & Frances Conklin as the World's Biggest Beagle the bed and breakfast inn opened in August 2003.

"Though it may look like a roadside attraction, the 30-foot Dog Bark Park Inn in Cottonwood, Idaho is actually a working bed and breakfast," the BBC says.
"Chainsaw artists turned B&B proprietors Frances Conklin and Dennis Sullivan earned enough by selling more miniature dog carvings to construct the 30-foot Dog Bark Park Inn in 1997 and have been showing guests a doggone good time since.
"Known unofficially as Sweet Willy, the big dog sleeps four, with a queen bed in the main section and two twin futons in the head, all appropriately appointed with canine-inspired furnishings. The beagle is a bargain too: The whole pup can be rented out for $92 per night for two people and includes a breakfast of homemade granola and pastries."
"Cottonwood is about an hour southeast of Lewiston, and for most of the trip we were in the Nez Perce reservation. It’s gorgeous country. What lured us both in this direction, however, was a view of a different kind," the Dog Jaunt says.
"The Dog Bark Park Inn is the creation of owners Dennis Sullivan & Frances Conklin, a couple of endless ingenuity and charm. The biggest feature is the World’s Largest Beagle, a bed-and-breakfast in the shape of a giant Beagle dog. Next to it is a smaller, but still giant, Beagle.
"It’s also a remarkably pleasant bed-and-breakfast. There’s only one suite, and it’s inside the largest of the Beagles. It contains a very comfortable queen-sized bed, in the Beagle’s belly, along with a petite but useful kitchenette, a dining table, and a good-sized bathroom. A ladder leads up the neck of the Beagle to a tiny room with two windows (the Beagle’s eyes) and a chair that folds out into a single-bed-sized foam mat."
