MELBOURNE, Australia--Jamie Russell, (D.O.B. 21/2/2012), from Rosary Park Catholic School in Branxton NSW Australia has set a new world record for the youngest person to perform a back flip on a scooter over an X Games ramp, while using the largest scooter ramp in the southern hemisphere measuring 100m long, 16m high and has a 15 jump gap, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"I was super excited and extremely nervous at the same time. My coach and pro rider Spencer was there, as was Jeremy Merrin also a pro scooter rider along with my family. They were very encouraging and reassuring. This was an extremely difficult trick to perform due to the sheer scale of this huge ramp and i had only ridden it twice before but i knew with some practice that i could do it," says Jamie.

"We support Jamie and his scootering as he trains at least 3 times per week and puts in a huge amount of time and effort into it, which is a lot for a 7 year old. He is very thankful for the traveling that we do to support him," says Mrs. Kim Russel, Jamie's mother.

Jamie is sponsored by Warehouse 11 and Monster Skate parks as well as Avoka clothing and Gain Protection. They are all extremely proud and supportive of Jamie and are excited to see where he goes from here.

Jamie's principal of Rosary Park Catholic school, Ms Stanbridge, as well as his teachers are also very proud of Jamie's achievements and announce these at the school assemblies.

Mrs Levido, Jamie's teacher says "Jamie is always a polite student who shows respect and is also very smart at his school work.
