"The longest pizza measures 1,930.39 m (6,333 ft 3.60 in), and was achieved by Pizzaovens.com, Venice Bakery, Orlando Foods, At-Pac, Sysco, TFX Non Stick, Capstone Scaffold Services, Scaffold Works, SoCal Gas, Tony Gemignani, Giulio Adriani, John Arena (all USA), and Italforni (Italy) in Fontana, California, USA, on 10 June 2017," the Guinness World Records says.

The pizza was made using approximately 17,700 lbs of dough, 5,000 lbs of tomato sauce and 3,900 lbs of mozzarella cheese. The pizza was made by a team of over 100 people over the course of 54 hours (40 hours prep time, plus 14 hours for the multiple rounds of baking). All leftover pizza was donated to several local area charities."

"Troiano, owner of J.B. Alberto's pizzeria in Chicago, said the idea to break the world record for the largest pizza derived from fellow pizzeria owners Tony Gemignani, Giulio Adriani and John Arena.

"Gemignani, 43, owner of Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, called Troiano and his son to assist in the pizza making on June 10 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California."

"It took 11 hours and 250 brightly uniformed pizza chefs working in shifts of 100, and the result is a 1.15-mile pizza — which outstrips its predecessor by one-sixteenth of a mile — stretched along the beautiful Naples coast," the Eater says.

"Cooking the Neapolitan-style pizza took five motorized wood-burning stoves, which wheeled their way down the length of the pizza foot by foot. Once the record was confirmed, visitors took complimentary slices, and surplus pizza was donated to those in need.

"Here are the numbers: it took 2.2 tons of flour, 2.2 tons of mozzarella cheese, 3,527 pounds of tomato sauce, 200 liters of olive oil, and 66 pounds of fresh basil. All of the ingredients were sourced locally from the Campania region, also known as the "home of pizza."

"The pizza was cooked by three conveyor ovens moving across AT-PAC’s 7,200-foot long track of scaffold. To do this we erected 2’10” wide X 10′ attached bays of Ringlock Scaffold that spanned a combined length of 7,200 ft. long. The scaffold table stood at approximately 4′ High and 2’10 wide using 10′ steel planks on 720 total bays to complete the required length of the surface to break the current longest pizza world record," the AT-PAC says.

"The process began on the evening of June 9th and continued throughout the night. The Guinness judges gathered the next day and made the final inspection and announced the BIG NEWS!

"Italforni USA & AT-PAC are proud that we were able to put together an event for all to enjoy and witness history in the making. During the event, we handed out thousands of slices of pizza to event attendees and delivered whole pizzas to local homeless shelters."

"The monster pizza weighed-in at more than seven tons and could feed more than 10,000 people, which it did. The nearly 2,000 spectators on hand to witness the historic event were offered a celebratory slice, while proceeds and the majority of the pizza, was donated to local homeless shelters and food banks."
