"A Pennsylvania man earned a Guinness World Records title for his collection of some unusual curiosities: slide charts. He earned the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of slide charts by submitting 1,111 eligible charts to be counted," the UPI reports.

"Harrisburg resident Dale Rupert said he started collecting slide charts -- handheld paper or plastic items that help with common calculations -- when he found a box of them for sale at a used bookstore in 2002.

"Rupert's collection includes charts designed to convert measurements, track NFL football schedules and even a 1970 Miss Clairol chart for determining the proper formulas for hair coloring."

"Rupert, of Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, bought his first slide chart — which look a little like old slide rules, which helped people in the pre-calculator days with simple math problems, but help with more complex tasks than the slide rules did — from RadioShack in 1970," the ABC27 reports.

"Today, the charts are neatly numbered from one to 3,117 — that’s how many he has. His Guinness World Records certificate is for “only” 1,111, because turns out it’s quite a process to verify each one, and anyway, is anyone really going to top that?

"The charts — most of them from pre-internet days — help users do everything from convert degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsuis, to working out guitar chords based on the key of a song. Another has a full year’s NFL schedule: Slide it to the current week, and through a window, you can see the opponents for all the teams, which are listed on the non-sliding part."

"The largest collection of slide charts consists of 1,111 items and was achieved by Dale Rupert (USA), in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States, on 13 July 2024," the Guinness World Records says.

Dale has collected slide charts and wheel charts for over 22 years. The charts span 30 categories from science, pseudo-science, sports, politics, manufacturing, military, agriculture, computers, nautical, tourism, fishing, automotive, gardening and more. The oldest are from the 1890s and his all-time favorite was number 605 in the collection: 'Miss Clairol Hair Color Dial'."

"Harrisburg resident Dale Rupert said he began collecting slide tables — paper or plastic objects that help with common calculations — when he found a box of them for sale at a used bookstore in 2002," the Telgrafi.com reports.

"Rupert said the collection of slide boards – and their related variants, wheeled boards – now totals 3117 pieces. He won the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of slide tables by submitting 1111 tables valid for counting.

"Rupert's collection includes charts designed to convert measurements, track NFL game schedules, and even a 1970s "Miss Clairol" chart for determining the right hair color formulas."

"Dale Rupert of Dauphin County has been collecting wheel and slide charts for the last 23 years and now holds the world record for his impressive collection. His list continues to grow, to this day. Rupert has more than 3,000 wheel and slide charts, but it's been a long process to become an official world record holder," the FOX43 reports.

Since 2002, Rupert has been collecting slide charts and wheel charts and- to date- he has roughly about 3,100 charts. The hand-held devices, usually made of paper, cardboard or plastic, are used for conducting calculations or looking up information.

"The Guinness Book of World Records would look over Rupert's collection for months and, after 22 weeks and five days, he became the official world record holder for the largest collection of wheel and slide charts."
