Largest grilled cheese sandwich, world record set in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States--Exodus Chaudhry, 11, and brother Iggy, 10, stars of The Exodus and Iggy Show on YouTube, used a custom-welded pan, more than 300 pounds of dough and 60 pounds of cheese to create a massive grilled cheese sandwich measuring 10.9 feet long and 6.25 feet wide, which sets the new world record for the World's Largest Grilled Cheese Sandwich, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"A pair of Wisconsin brothers led their friends and family in the creation of a massive grilled cheese sandwich measuring 10.9 feet long and 6.25 feet wide," the UPI reports.

"Exodus Chaudhry, 11, and brother Iggy, 10, stars of The Exodus and Iggy Show on YouTube, used a custom-welded pan, more than 300 pounds of dough and 60 pounds of cheese to create the 2.75-inch-thick sandwich at the Tripoli Shrine Center in Milwaukee.

"The brothers aimed to break the Guinness World Record for largest grilled cheese sandwich, which was set by Cabot Creamery of Vermont in 2000 with one that measured 10 feet long, 5 feet wide and 2.5 inches thick."

"The largest grilled cheese sandwich measures 1.89 m (6 ft 2.41 in) wide, 3.32 m (10ft 10.7 in) long and 7 cm (2.75 in) thick, achieved by Exodus and Iggy Chaudhry (both USA) with support from the Exodus and Iggy Show team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, on 21 October 2023," the Guinness World Records says.

"The sandwich weighed 189.9 kg (418 lb 11oz) and was made using more than 40 kg (88lb 2.95 oz) of cheese. It was cooked on a giant griddle made especially for the attempt.

"Exodus and Iggy served the sandwich to the local community and donated the leftovers to local food banks."

"Exodus and Iggy Chaudhry, 11 and 10 years old respectively, made the world’s largest grilled cheese at the Tripoli Shrine Center. The grilled cheese, per the adjudicator onsite, weighed in at 418 pounds," the Spectrum News reports.

"The sandwich was 6.23 feet by 10.91 feet and 2.76 inches. The Chaudhry’s have their own YouTube channel, “The Exodus and Iggy Show,” with more than 154,000 subscribers.

"In addition to setting a new Guinness World Record, the event raised funds for local food banks."

"A pair of Wisconsin brothers broke a world record by making the largest grilled cheese sandwich back in October. Earlier this week, the Guinness Book of World Records reported on the attempt by young YouTube personalities Exodus and Iggy Chaudhry.

"The award-winning sandwich measured 6.2 feet wide, 10.8 feet long, and 2.7 inches thick. It weighed 418.7 pounds. With the help of friends and family, the pair tested a few different types of bread before the attempt. The team settled on using giant pieces of focaccia, a type of Italian bread," the WISH-TV reports.

"A special griddle was constructed to bake the bread. Once baked, the team added cheese using an open flame to cook the bottom and torches on the top. In order for the record to count, the sandwich must have all the cheese melted and have both sides browned."

"Exodus and Iggy Chaudhry of Delavan, Wis., have been on a mission to break a world record on their YouTube channel, "The Exodus and Iggy Show." After conducting some research, the pair decided that making to world’s largest grilled cheese seemed like a reasonable feat," the Dairy Herd Management says.

Previously, the Guinness World Record title for the world's largest grilled cheese sandwich belonged to Cabot Creamery in Vermont. They set the record in 2000 with their sandwich weighing 320 pounds and measuring 5 feet wide, 10 feet long and 2.4 inches thick."

"There has been a new record breaking achievement in Wisconsin. Two Walworth County brothers set a new world record involving cheese, the very thing Wisconsin is most famous for. "According to the family, the sandwich was 10.9 feet long, 6.25 feet wide and it was 2.75 inches thick. Exodus and Iggy Chaudhry’s mother said they used more than 300 pounds of dough and 60 pounds of cheese. For a month, friends and family helped to construct the record-breaking sandwich, including a custom-welded pan, WISN 12 reports.

"The previous Guinness World Record for the world’s largest grilled cheese sandwich was held by the Cabot Creamery of Vermont. They set the record in 2000. It weighed 320 pounds and measured 5 feet by 10 feet by half an inch by 2 and a half inches."

"Exodus and Iggy Chaudhry, two young boys from Wisconsin, USA, decided to celebrate their milestone of reaching 1,00,000 subscribers on YouTube by cooking the world’s largest grilled cheese sandwich and earning a Guinness World Record in their name," the News18 reports.

"The sibling duo successfully attempted this record on October 21 but their record was publicly verified on November 27. Exodus and Iggy, who are 11 and 10 years old respectively, sought the help of their parents and neighbors to create the massive sandwich which measured 1.89 meters (6.2 feet) wide, 3.32 meters (10.8 feet) long, and 7 cm (2.7 in) thick.

"The sandwich weighed 189.9 kg. It was almost 45 kilograms heavier than the previous record made by Vermont’s Cabot Creamery in 2000."
