Lowville, New York, United States--Kraft Heinz unveiled a 15,008-pound cheesecake at the Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville, New York; it features more than 13,000 pounds of cheesecake filling plus 870 pounds of graham cracker crumbs, 300 pounds of sugar and more than 100 pounds of butter; it also measured more than 11 feet in diameter and sets the new world record for the World's Largest Cheesecake, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"An annual Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville, N.Y., hosted a successful Guinness World Record attempt featuring a 15,008-pound cheesecake," the UPI reports.

"The Kraft-Heinz plant in Lowville set the record for the world's largest cheesecake at the festival in 2013, but was beaten by a team from Russia who made a 9,347-pound cheesecake in 2017.


"If you're going to beat it, might as well go big," Langdon told WWNY-TV. "We decided we're going to smash that record, make it almost twice as big as the last one. If they were going to beat it, they'd have to go really big. It was go big."

"The cheesecake's weight came in at 15,008 pounds and Lt. Col Adam Keller from the 6th Squadron, 6th Cavalry of the 10th Mountain Division cut the first piece, the festival's Facebook page said," the Democrat and Chronicle reports.

"Lowville and it's festival, which is just over an hour north of Utica, has previously been home to the record, according to Spectrum News, as Kraft Heinz previously built a 6,900-lb. cheesecake in 2013 but a Russian company made a bigger one — 9,347.6 lbs. — just four years later in 2017.


"“As the leader in cream cheese we are always looking for ways to share our iconic brand and remind people of our delicious and creamy taste," says Kraft Heinz Lowville Plant manufacturing manager Chris Pomerville."

"Kraft Heinz unveiled a 15,008-pound cheesecake Saturday at the Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville, N.Y. Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric confirmed the sweet treat’s size, according to Spectrum News, smashing the previous record by more than 5,000 pounds," the Syracuse.com says.


"It is fantastic,” Kraft Heinz Lowville interim plant manager Christina Pomerville said. “The fact that it’s over 15,000 will hopefully make it very difficult for anyone to take the title away from us again.”


"Saturday’s record-breaking dessert features more than 13,000 pounds of cheesecake filling (made with Philadelphia Cream Cheese from Kraft’s Lowville plant) plus 870 pounds of graham cracker crumbs, 300 pounds of sugar and more than 100 pounds of butter. It also measured more than 11 feet in diameter."

"It was a record cake Kraft Heinz team members made on Friday. It not only has 13,000 pounds of Philadelphia ready-to-eat cheesecake, but more than 800 pounds of graham cracker crumbs, more than 300 pounds of sugar and more than 100 pounds of butter.


"Believe it or not, one of the rules of being designated a world record for the largest cheesecake is that it's edible and it has to be served the day that award is given, whether it be to a charity or a food pantry or in this case, the Cream Cheese Festival."

"The record-breaking cheesecake weighed in at 6,900 lbs. (3,129.787 kg), which is approximately 24,533 servings. The cake was created in a pan that measured 90.25 inches in diameter and was nearly 31 inches deep.


"The filling consisted of PHILADELPHIA cream cheese spread and sugar, while the crust was created from graham cracker crumbs and butter, topped with sugar decorations."
