Because there had been no previous record for most strikes in a 24-hour period, Guinness set the initial mark at 1,200," the
WKRC says.
"We passed that record about 1:45 today, and we're going to keep bowling and driving that number way high so nobody can beat us," Wiseman told WDRB after passing the mark with more than ten hours remaining.
"Angie Smith spoke to WDRB and said that she organized a raffle during the event for a chance to win Professional Bowler's Association autographed merchandise, including a signed bowling ball that was used by Kyle Troup to win the 2024 U.S. Open. The money collected will be donated to the Friend for Life Cancer Support Network, which is a cause close to Smith's heart as she herself is an eight-year breast cancer survivor, per WDRB."
"At a Jeffersontown bowling alley, four people set a new Guinness World Record when they took it upon themselves to bowl as many strikes as they could in 24 hours,"
The Courier Journal reports.
Steven Wiseman, Trace Wiseman, Erik Howard and Kyle Reid spent 24 hours bowling at Kingpin Lanes. Although there was not a Guinness official in sight, they had people recording the 24 hours and keeping track of the number of strikes, according to WDRB.
"According to WDRB, nobody had previously set a record for most strikes in 24 hours. Guiness set the record at 1,200 strikes, which the team surpassed."
