Kenosha, Wisconsin, United States--The German candy company HARIBO and partners built a giant candy mosaic at University of Wisconsin-Parkside, in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; the mosaic measures 353.1 square feet (32.804 square meters), was made of approximately 150,000 HARIBO Goldbears, and set the world record for the World's Largest Gummy Candy Mosaic, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"Haribo earned the Guinness World Records title for the "world's largest jelly/gummy candy mosaic" at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, the same county as its first U.S. production facility, which opened in July," the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says.


"According to a news release, the record-breaking mosaic measured 353.1 square feet and was made from approximately 150,000 Haribo Goldbears gummy bears, the brand's most popular product.


"Each gummy was laid by hand by "300 of Haribo's associates, their friends and family, as well as community partners, including the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha," Haribo said in the release. Participants used custom 12-by-12-inch acrylic trays inlaid with the printed Haribo logo design and followed along "like paint-by-numbers using Haribo gummies."

"HARIBO had a sweet start to 2024 by breaking a gummy-related world record. The German candy company announced on Friday that it has broken the Guinness World Record for the world's largest jelly/gummy mosaic," the Fox 29 News Philadelphia says.

The mosaic, which features over 150,000 individual gummy bears, measures 353.1 square feet and took 300 people to build. The gigantic gummy art was made at University of Wisconsin at Parkside in Kenosha County. The county is also the location of Haribo's first American manufacturing facility.
