Los Angeles, California, United States--In a groundbreaking effort to combat food injustice and celebrate Juneteenth, Chef Supreme Divine and The Harvest Academy, along with key sponsors Beyond Meat, Gen V, and Vegans of LA, served a remarkable 1,008 meals in just 37 minutes at Estrada Courts, setting the world record for the Most community vegan meals served in an hour, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"In the heart of Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, an extraordinary event unfolded as the community activist, known as Chef Supreme Dow, set out to achieve a Guinness World Record. The mission? To serve the most vegan community meals in a single hour," the UnchainedTV says.


"This historic feat drew in a large crowd, eager to witness a moment that would not only highlight the power of community but also champion the benefits of plant-based eating. And, they were also drawn by the plain fun of it.  “We have over a thousand meals here today. We’re going to feed the community,” Chef Dow exclaimed, his enthusiasm palpable as volunteers prepared for the monumental task ahead.


"Chef Dow is a long-time advocate for veganism, which makes sense when you consider this spectacularly fit U.S. Army veteran has been vegan since birth. Initially funding his efforts out of his own pocket, his dedication has now culminated in what he is sure will be confirmed as a record-breaking event."

"The menu for this record-setting event was both nutritious and very tasty: vegan meatloaf, Spanish Rice, kale salad and a cookie," the UnchainedTV says.


"The meatloaf was courtesy of Beyond Meat, which donated a huge supply of their plant-based sausage made with avocado oil, which was paired with peppers and onions for the vegan meatloaf.


“Chef Dow has just outdone himself with these delicious meals,” a volunteer remarked, highlighting the chef’s commitment to quality and taste."

"The event was meticulously organized, with preparations starting early in the morning. 


"As the clock ticked down, the team served a remarkable 1,008 meals in just 37 minutes. “An amazing result,” Chef Dow proudly announced, thanking all the volunteers and the sponsors, which included lead sponsor GenV, Beyond Meat and the Boys & Girls Club of San Gabriel Valley & Eastside."

"This event not only aims to break records but also address the food disparities faced by undeserved communities in LA and across the nation. In addition to setting a record by delivering 1000 meals in one hour, the event will also provide meals to the remaining 700 residents in the area, ensuring everyone is provided for.

"The initiative aims to bring awareness to the critical issue of food injustice, by providing healthy, plant-based meals to communities that lack access to nutritious food. As Chef Supreme Divine puts it, “Food is either poison or medicine. This event helps prevent diet-related diseases and ensures everyone has the right to be whole, happy, and healthy.


"Chef Supreme Divine, a disabled Army veteran, has made it his mission to change the world through food. Over the past two years, he has served over 30,000 meals, leveraging his personal experiences of homelessness to give back to the community. This event is a part of a larger mission to provide healthy, vegan meals to all under served communities."

"This initiative addresses the critical issue of food injustice by providing healthy, plant-based meals to communities that lack access to nutritious food," the official press release says.

This event underscores the idea that "Food is freedom," and there is no better day than Juneteenth to highlight the importance of food justice.
