Bentonville, Arkansas, United States--The Walton family, an American family whose collective fortune derived from Walmart (NYSE: WMT), has a net worth around US$ 324.2 billion, which makes them the World’s Richest Family, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"Walmart founder Sam Walton died more than 30 years ago, but the retail giant he started is still thriving and making his family even richer. The Waltons were recently named the world’s richest family by Bloomberg, with a striking net worth of $432 billion," the Forbes reports.
"Already a powerful dynasty, the three Walton children and their offspring became the richest family in 2024 thanks to their stake in the retail giant started by their father.
"The surviving first rung of heirs of the Walton family include Sam’s three children Rob, Jim and Alice. They alongside, Walton’s daughter-in-law Chirsty, grandson Lukas, and Sam’s brother and business partner’s children Ann and Nancy, are the seven heirs that account for the 45% of Walmart stock, according to Forbes."

"The majority of the family's wealth derives from the heritage of Bud and Sam Walton, who were the co-founders of Walmart. Walmart is the world's largest retailer, one of the world's largest business enterprises in terms of annual revenue, and, with just over 2.2 million employees, the world's largest private employer.
"In August 2024, the Walton family's net worth was around US$ 324.2 billion."

"The Waltons, regulars on our list, keep getting richer for a simple reason: Walmart stock. As of Dec. 10, it was up 80% this year. The surge lifted the dynasty’s combined wealth by $172.7 billion in 12 months — that’s $473.2 million a day, or $328,577 a minute — eclipsing the fortunes of the Emirati royals who took the top spot on the Bloomberg list in 2023," the Bloomberg reports.
"Sam Walton laid the foundations for this. He strategically divided his fortune among his children to maintain family control and ensure their wealth would keep growing.
"Since his death in 1992, his heirs have hewed to a principle that has paid off handsomely for the Waltons and many other families on our list: stick together. Walton Enterprises has provided glue by overseeing most of the family’s combined and ever-more-valuable stake in Walmart."
"The Waltons are once again the world's wealthiest family, ranking ahead of Gulf royalty, luxury fashion houses, and industrial dynasties," the Business Insider says.
"The heirs to the Walmart fortune have grown their wealth by 66% since last year to a record $432 billion as of December 5, meaning they've regained the No.1 spot on Bloomberg's annual list of the world's richest families.
"That wealth figure exceeds the market value of some of America's biggest companies including Home Depot ($412 billion), Procter & Gamble ($402 billion), and Netflix ($396 billion)."
"The Walton family, which is best known for creating the multinational Walmart chain of stores, is the richest clan on the planet, with a record net worth of $432.4 billion, Bloomberg reported on Thursday," the Robb Report says.
"Since last year, they’ve added an astounding $172.7 billion to their wealth, thanks in part to Walmart stock rising 80 percent this year. That’s allowed them to overtake Emirati royals for the top spot in Bloomberg’s annual ranking.
"Walmart’s first true store opened 62 years ago, and since then it has grown into the world’s largest retailer by revenue, Bloomberg noted. Now with 10,600 locations across the globe, the chain brings in some $648 billion a year. But Walmart is responsible for just 70 percent of the Walton’s fortune today. Family members have expanded their investments into other areas of interest, such as sports, the arts, and philanthropy."
"Walmart Inc. (formerly Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.) is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets (also called supercenters), discount department stores, and grocery stores in the United States and 23 other countries. It is headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas. (Wikipedia)
"As of October 31, 2022, Walmart has 10,586 stores and clubs in 24 countries, operating under 46 different names. The company operates under the name Walmart in the United States and Canada, as Walmart de México y Centroamérica in Mexico and Central America, and as Flipkart Wholesale in India.
"Walmart is the world's largest company by revenue, according to the Fortune Global 500 list in October 2022. In February 2023, Walmart announced that its FY2023 total revenue was $611.3 billion. Walmart is also the largest private employer in the world with 2.1 million employees. It is a publicly traded family-owned business, as the company is controlled by the Walton family."
