She opens up her home to the public during several December weekends every year, and it’s a popular event among those in the know as she has created a festive holiday wonderland," the Lewis Center Mom says.
"Barbara started this labor of love years ago when she was fighting cancer and going through difficult treatments. She set a goal to put up 100 Christmas trees to help her get through that time.
"Little did she know her Christmas tree collection – and her health – would flourish and result in media attention and public tours through her home every December! If that’s not Christmas magic, I don’t know what is."
"When she was first diagnosed with cancer, she started this tradition to help her through difficult times. Fast forward 11 years and Barbara is cancer free and she continues to keep the Christmas spirit alive!" the ABC6 reports.

"Even before Hardesty’s battle with cancer, she and her family always celebrated Christmas in a major way by hosting a large Christmas open house for their community members to enjoy," the ccnevada.com reports.
"Hardesty credits her Christmas trees for helping her get through her battle with cancer. For her, the trees bring her closer to her friends and family, and remind her that we are all capable of great things, no matter what we are going through."
