St. Louis, Missouri, United States--The Shoelace Factory and City Museum in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, worked together to make a shoelace measuring 2,729 feet (831.91 m) long -- more than half a mile, which sets the world record for being the World's Longest Shoelace, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

"A Missouri museum teamed up with the business located on its second floor to break a world record with a shoelace measuring 2,729 feet long -- more than half a mile,"  the UPI reports.


"The Shoelace Factory and City Museum worked together to make this Guinness World Records attempt. The shoelace was manufactured with antique shoelace weaving equipment by The Shoelace Factory that is housed inside City Museum.


"The City Museum resides in a near 100 year old building that was formerly the International Shoe Company warehouse in downtown St. Louis. During the 20th century, St. Louis was once one of the nation's largest shoe manufacturing cities."

"The longest shoelace is 831.91 m (2729.36 ft) and was achieved by City Museum and The Shoelace Factory (both USA) in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, on 15 April 2024," the Guinness World Records says.

" The Shoelace Factory and City Museum worked together to make this Guinness World Records attempt. The shoelace was manufactured with antique shoelace weaving equipment by The Shoelace Factory that is housed inside City Museum.


" The City Museum resides in a near 100 year old building that was formerly the International Shoe Company warehouse in downtown St. Louis. During the 20th century, St. Louis was once one of the nation's largest shoe manufacturing cities."

"The City Museum in St. Louis ties down a Guinness World Record for the World's Longest Shoelace. On the second floor of the massive building, the Shoelace Factory created the World's Longest Shoelace which measured in at 831.9 meters, or approximately a half-mile long,"  the KRCG TV reports.


"The City Museum now resides in the former Annex of the International Shoe Company (1931) building, making theshoelace record a perfect fit. The Shoelace Factory still uses antique machinery to weave its shoelaces for the thousands of guests traveling through the museum each year. This particular record-breaking lace took over 24 hours to weave on an antique textile machine from 1890.


"The official record-verifying length was measured by a survey crew on the 150-year-old Eads Bridge. Its official Guinness World's Longest Shoelace measurements came out to 2,729.360 feet, 0.517 miles or 831.911 meters."
