Urbana, Ohio, United States--A giant bread replica sits outside of The American Pan Factory in Urbana, Ohio; it is made out of fiberglass and steel and sets the world record for being the World's Largest Loaf of Bread Sculpture, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"This giant loaf of bread is located right in Urbana! It has been in the same spot for years, and after a revamp in 2016, is looking better than ever. This large bread replica sits outside of The American Pan Factory. It is made out of fiberglass and steel. The origin of this loaf is completely unknown. Its age is also a mystery," the Her Realtors says.
"This giant loaf of bread is not the easiest to find despite its size. It sits in a tree-filled area that isn’t very close to the main shops. But if you do find this loaf, you’ll likely want to take plenty of pictures!
"“It's exactly as it's touted. It's a large loaf of bread that is lit up from the street and there is a driveway where you could pull in and take a picture (with visitor parking at the top of a hill). It's definitely a two picture moment: 1) one of the bread, and 2) a selfie. We were checking out Urbana as we've never been there before and if you had a free five minutes in your schedule, definitely stop by and check it out.” -- TripAdvisor Review
"Urbana is a city in and the county seat of Champaign County, Ohio, United States, about 34 miles (55 km) northeast of Dayton and 41 miles (66 km) west of Columbus.
"The population was 11,115 at the 2020 census. It is the principal city of the Urbana micropolitan area. Urbana was laid out in 1805, and for a time in 1812 was the headquarters of the Northwestern army during the War of 1812. It is the burial place of the explorer and Indian fighter Simon Kenton." "I got to see an amazing array of bread paraphenalia. And, two fiberglass loaves of bread. American Pan is a manufacturer (and re-manufacturer) of bread baking equipment. It's a family owned business, but Mr. and Mrs. XX are very private people. The bread museum is his own personal collection of an amazing array of bread-related items, including an early mechanized world's fair ad piece," the
World's Largest Things eports.
"The World's Largest Loaf of Bread, however, is another story. Formerly displayed upright, the larger of the two is now lying behind one of the factory buildings. It attracted a lot of attention when erect, which is not comfortable for a private family. It would be painted with the package design of one of their customers, which you can still see on the leftover loaf.
"The second loaf still acts as a sign for the factory itself, proudly displayed by the entrance door. The larger of the two is a little more interesting, form-wise as the plastic bag is more irregular, and twist-tie looks as if it's been used a couple of times. But, both are very nicly formed, and must have been an amazing site when new."
"The Bundy Baking Museum is a result of Russell T. Bundy’s 40-plus year passion to collect and preserve the rich history of the baking industry. This private collection is open exclusively to industry professionals, who are invited to contact us to schedule a guided tour or to utilize our facilities for offsite meetings," the official website says.
"The first level of the museum showcases an 8-foot-tall Old Home Bakery sign and four vintage delivery trucks, as well as hundreds of advertisements, signs, and containers. The second level of the museum is home to three horse-drawn delivery vehicles, including a sleigh used in Michigan. This level also includes Continental Baking Company’s Wonder Bread Magician – a working display from the 1939 World’s Fair.
"The third level of the museum houses the official Baking Hall of Fame (moved from Manhattan, Kansas in 2020), as well as various baking industry literature, advertisements, and artifacts. This enormous collection doesn’t stop inside the walls of the museum and showroom. Vintage signage and unique pieces can be found throughout Bundy Baking Solutions’ headquarters, including the manufacturing area, employee offices, and outdoors."
"We had to drop by this attraction to see what our kids thought. They loved it! They couldn't believe the size of this loaf of bread, although they do not know it's not real. It was a funny thing to see!"

"After finding lots of these places in Columbus, Springfield, and Dublin, Ohio, we ventured on to Urbana where the World's Largest Bread is displayed. You can easily take a picture from the street without entering the property. It is wonderful! It is a delight to see and photograph."
