Glendale, California, United States--The wrought iron gates at Forest Lawn - Glendale, California, measure 25 feet high and 80 feet wide, weighs 5,000 pounds each, but they are so perfectly balanced that they may be opened or closed with your finger tips; the gates sets the world record for being the World's largest wrought iron gates, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
"Those gates are the largest wrought iron gates in the world: twice as wide as the famous entrance gates of Buckingham Palace, and five feet higher. "Forest Lawn’s entrance gates measure 25 feet high and 80 feet wide. The design is early English Renaissance. Incorporated into the design are the coats of arms of some famous English and Scottish family names represented in churches and other buildings located in the Memorial–Park—Penn, Douglas, Laurie, and the family of Forest Lawn’s founder, the Eatons, says the official website.
"Each of the gates weighs 5,000 pounds each, but they are so perfectly balanced that they may be opened or closed with your finger tips. Even a four year old can open them, as little Madeline Maypole proved!"

"Forest Lawn Memorial Park is a fabulous art museum. Allow a minimum of 4 hours to visit. Eaton designed the memorial park in 1908 with the idea that it would be a beautiful uplifting experience. He succeeded. It begins at the entrance. The gate is the largest wrought iron gate in the world and opens and closes with the touch of the finger.
" have read some things online that say that this place is the Disneyland of burial places. It’s probably A little bit true, everything is serene and beautiful there’s nothing depressing about this place. Everywhere you look it’s a lovely sight."
"This park is a serene respite, offering quiet solitude to respect and contemplate loved ones and life, in general."
"A beautiful entrance and lovely grounds. Both my parents are here so I visit often whenever I am in town. Always a calming place to reflect and sit for awhile."
